Entertainment Ones is gearing up for the debut of Ricky Zoom in the Nordics with a host of new broadcast deals.
The pre-school animation will come to NRK in Norway this November, and speeds onto Sweden’s SVT from spring 2020.
“We’re excited that these latest deals with NRK and SVT will bring Ricky Zoom to audiences in the Nordics,” says Monica Candiani eOne’s EVP International Content Sales, Family and Brands.
“Ricky Zoom is a show all about vehicles, friendship and adventure, with meaningful life lessons woven into the storylines. There’s nothing quite like it in the pre-school sector right now and the long list of top-tier broadcast partners signed to date demonstrates that it clearly has global appeal.”
New partners in the Nordics join a growing list of international broadcasters launching Ricky Zoom across North America and Europe from this autumn. Nickelodeon brings the show to the US, Nick Jr. and Channel 5’s Milkshake in the UK, Treehouse in Canada, Super RTL in Germany, Spain’s Clan TV, France’s Gulli, and Italy’s RAI.
Entertainment One has also secured deals with Youku in China, Discovery Kids for Latin America, and Spacetoon for the MENA region, Karusel in Russia, Minika Cocuk in Turkey, and EBS in South Korea.
Hasbro acquired the Ricky Zoom brand as part of it’s takeover of eOne, which was voted through almost unanimously by both boards earlier this month. Peppa Pig and PJ Masks will also be brought into the toy maker’s stable, giving it some of the biggest pre-school brands in the market.
