Ahead of Mipcom, One Animation has detailed a raft of new broadcast deals for Oddbods’ new season, longer format specials, and the debut of the hit animation on trains across Italy.
Following the successful launch of Oddbods toys in Mexico and Oddbods marathons on both Cartoon Network and Boomerang, Turner Latin America has acquired Oddbods season three (60 x 7’) plus the 22-minute Halloween special Oddbods: Party Monsters.
Similarly, Spanish free-TV channel TV3 Catalunya has also picked up season three and the Halloween special, while Netflix has inked a new deal for Oddbods season two (60 x 7’) to launch globally in January 2020.
Finally, brightening up the commute across Italy, leading train operator TrenItalia has secured 10 five-minute Oddbods episodes for travellers to enjoy on the screen monitors and mobile app.
“We’re thrilled to see Oddbods now in its third season and continuing to perform well with broadcast partners,” says Michele Schofield, One Animation’s SVP Content Distribution. “We are still negotiating more exciting deals for Oddbods and look forward to announcing those soon.
“Meanwhile, our one-minute Oddbods shorts are always finding new audiences across OTT platforms and YouTube, having amassed over 12 billion views on YouTube alone.”
These deals follow last week’s appointment of Retail Monster in the UK and Ireland to drive the Oddbods licensing programme. The licensing and brand extension agent will look to leverage the animation’s broadcast success to secure licensing partnerships across ancillary toys, back to school and stationery, publishing, food and beverage, gifting and novelties, promotions and live events.
