Aardman’s classic character Morph will be returning to screens net spring exclusively on Sky Kids.
The Epic Adventures of Morph will reunite Aardman and Sky, following the success of two previous series of Morph that premiered on Sky Kids in 2016 and 2018.
Merlin Crossingham, Director of Morph says the character is “as fresh as ever” and the new series will “be pushing the boundaries of Morph’s world further than ever before."
Pushing into new territory begins with a fresh format. At 15 five-minute episodes of slapstick comed, the 2020 series will be longer than the previous one for Sky.
It will also see old friends Delilah and Grandmorph return for the first time in nearly 40 years, and the Very Small creatures join the gang as Morph and Chas go beyond their desktop home into the wider world for the very first time.
“We commissioned new Morph shorts in 2016 knowing our audience would adore them, and they certainly have," says Lucy Murphy, Head of Kids Content at Sky.
"When the talented team at Aardman planned to make longer episodes, and expand Morph’s world, it was an opportunity too good to miss. Everyone loves Morph and we know when they meet Grandmorph and Delilah, and join Morph’s adventures beyond the desk, the love will grow even stronger.”
Staying true to the original format, The Epic Adventures of Morph will be shot using clay and traditional stop-frame animation without dialogue at Morph’s original home, Aardman studios in Bristol.
The Epic Adventures of Morph will broadcast on Sky next spring.
