Hot on the heels of announcing movie adaptations for Barbie and Hot, Mattel is upping its content production division with the hire of Disney Channel’s former Executive VP, Adam Bonnett.
He joins the Mattel Television division as Executive Producer, where he will oversee episodic animation and live-action content based on the toymaker’s world-renowned brands, reporting to Mattel President and COO Richard Dickinson.
"Adam is an extraordinarily talented executive with a proven track record of developing high-quality TV content that captures the imagination of kids worldwide," says Richard. "Adding his expertise is another important step as we build out our franchise management capabilities in order to maximise the potential of our brands across a variety of channels and consumer touchpoints."
With more than 20 years’ experience, Adam most recently spearheaded live action development and original series and movies for Disney Channels Worldwide. There he helmed development of the network’s biggest hits, including Hannah Montana, Even Stevens, Lizzie McGuire, and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. He stepped down from the role in October last year to focus on producing.
Prior to his time with the mouse house he headed up current programming at Nickelodeon and oversaw the network’s popular annual Kids Choice Awards.
