Second season of Studio 100 Media’s hit cgi series attracts major broadcast support – as Playmobil readies new licensed toy range

Heidi S2 pre-sold across Europe thumbnail

A slew of new international broadcasters have signed on for season two of Heidi, the latest from Studio 100 Media’s CGI-animated revival.

In addition to TF1 (France), a co-production partner on the series, Heidi has also been pre-sold to Canal Panda (Portugal), TVPabc (Poland), MTVA (Hungary), RTVS (Slovakia), ProPlus (Slovenia) and LRT (Lithuania).

Based on Johanna Spyri’s popular children’s book Heidi’s Years of Wandering and Learning by Swiss, the series has won fans around with its vibrant, charming visual style and timeless themes.

Dorian Buhr, Head of Distribution at Studio 100 Media, says: “Heidi is a truly wonderful family brand with a great track record. We are delighted with the pre-sales and our deals with these broadcast partners will ensure that Heidi will continue to be popular and win a new generation of fans.”

Produced by Studio 100 Animation SAS for five to eight-year-olds, the series follows the adventures of Heidi a happy, charismatic and communicative orphan-girl. She lives with her grandfather in the scenic idyll of the Swiss Alps, making friends, taking on responsibilities and encouraging others to tackle and muddle through the challenges of everyday life.

Heidi season two will be completed by December this year, in time for the launch of the new licensed Heidi toy range from Playmobil, including Heidi figures, various play sets and more, in January 2020 onwards.
