Fred Rogers Productions picked up five goings at the 46th Daytime Emmy Awards during this weekend’s ceremony, with trophies going to three of its hit family shows.
Leading the way was Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood with Outstanding Preschool Children’s Animated Series – its first Emmy – and Odd Squad with a trio of accolades: Outstanding Children’s or Family Viewing Series! Outstanding Writing for a Children’s, Preschool Children’s, Family Viewing and Outstanding Directing for a Children’s, Preschool Children’s or Family Viewing Program for Odd Squad: World Turned Odd.
In addition, the studio’s animated pre-school series Peg + Cat won Outstanding Original (Song) in a Children’s or Animated Program for Making a World With My Friend.
“We’re honored to win five Daytime Emmys that recognise all three of our outstanding shows,” says Kevin Morrison, COO of Fred Rogers Productions.
“We recently delivered the 125th episode of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood to PBS, and the hundreds of people on the extended production team who put their talents, care and love into every word, picture and bar of music in each and every one of those episodes, as well as Odd Squad and Peg + Cat, are honoured by this recognition by the Academy.”
