Aurora World and co-production partner Mondo TV are gearing up for the launch of a brand new YooHoo & Friends series, which rolls out this spring on Netflix.

The 52 x 11 minute series YooHoo to the Rescue is a Netflix original 3D CGI production, scheduled for global launch in 20 different languages and more than 190 countries from March 2019. The series follows the adventures of seven animal friends who live in the magical land of YooTopia. Armed with eye-catching gadgets and ride-ons, in each episode they travel in their Wonderbug to a new destination on Earth to help animals in trouble, learning about real-life challenges that the planet faces today.

The concept on which YooHoo is based is at the heart of ethical considerations in relation to conserving wildlife and our environment. No-one is immune to the challenges we face and what better way to deliver this message in a simplistic way than by engaging kids through cute animals and a fun-packed TV series.

The licensing programme is spearheaded by Aurora World, brand owner and manufacturer of the YooHoo plush line that has sold more than 80 million units across the brand’s 10-year history. Aurora is kickstarting the consumer products programme with the roll out of 88 SKUs reflecting the highly collectable element of the brand.

The range includes five-inch and eight-inch sizes of the seven main and 26 secondary characters from the TV series, 14 SKUs of Plush Keychains and eight SKUs of Mini Sacks. Each single plush item will carry a hangtag with the name of the character, information about the animal it represents, the Netflix logo and a QR code which leads kids to the digital engagement. Retail presentations are currently taking place with product scheduled for delivery in March 2019.

Jane Forbes is heading up the UK licensing programme at Aurora World and is seeking initial licencees in the toy (plastic and playsets) publishing (TV tie-in formats and annuals) and apparel sectors. Prospective partners will join an enviable line-up of European talent such as Panini, Nuvita, Apple Beauty, and Dolfin. Kennedy Publishing is a long-term magazines partner in the UK and Germany.
