Paddington finds new home at PhatMojo thumbnail

Copyrights Group has signed PhatMojo as the new master toy licensee for Paddington across the US, Canada, Latin America, and Australia and New Zealand.

The deal was brokered by Bravado and Retail Monster, Copyrights Group’s local licensing agents for North America.

The agreement gives PhtMojo toy rights to all new media content currently in development for Paddington, including the new TV series launching in 2020 and a cinematic follow-up to the phenomenally popular Paddington movies.

Shawn McCarthy, PhatMojo CEO, says: “It’s so cool, and such an honour, to become part of the great Paddington tradition. The new TV and film content is inspiring to us. Bringing Paddington to the pre-school aisle will be a joy.”

Products in the range will include a full range of toys at different price points, including plush, figurines, playsets and role-play items. The first wave will roll out to coincide with the the TV series in autumn 2020.

Under this new partnership, PhatMojo will create product ranges tied into all new media content being developed for the popular children and family IP, including the new TV series launching next year, and Paddington movies.

The new Paddington series The Adventures of Paddington is a fully animated 3D production in which a younger Paddington writes to his Aunt Lucy from Windsor Gardens. The series will launch with 26 x 22’ episodes, airing on Nickelodeon’s networks worldwide in 2020, (except France, Canada, China and Japan). Meanwhile, a new movie, Paddington 3 is currently in development.

Sophie Kopaczynski, Copyrights Group CEO, adds: “We are thrilled to partner with PhatMojo to create a new range of products for a whole new generation of fans, who will discover Paddington for the first time through his new adventures on TV. We believe this is a great new chapter for Paddington.”

The products will be available in all other territories through existing or new distribution partners.
