MGA Entertainment has appointed Ratna Kirpal as its new Vice President of Global Licensing.

Reporting directly to CEO Isaac Larian, Ratna is charged with developing and growing L.O.L Surprise, Little Tikes and other best-selling MGA toy IP both in collaboration with external partners and internally with MGA’s retail, promotions and experiences divisions.

“Ratna will be an essential asset to the MGAE executive team as we continue to drive innovation and originality among the toy industry,” says Isaac. “Our licensing division is experiencing incredible growth with several key MGAE brands, including L.O.L. Surprise!, Poopsie Surprise, Little Tikes, and more. I’m confident with Ratna’s background our licensing group will deliver exciting products to retail that will continue to grow brand affinity among our customers.”

Ratna says she is adopting an “open for business” approach when it comes to existing partners “to deliver smart, creative and original licensing programs”.

“MGAE is delivering ground-breaking IP that has essentially shaken up the toy industry and retailer aisles,” she adds.

“ For new licensees, I’m excited to move forward quickly to help further support MGAE’s growth and show what’s next’for MGAE licensing.”

Ratna joins MGA from The Walt Disney Company where, for the past 14 years, she has worked on successful licensing initiatives for brands across the Disney and Pixar portfolios, including Frozen, Toy Story, Zootopia and Cars.
