Hasbro has named Matthew Austin its new President and General Manager, European Sales and Marketing to lead Hasbro SA's services and distribution network across Europe.

He will report to Chief Commercial Officer Wiebe Tinga, who says: “We are thrilled to have Matt join our team as we continue to execute our strategy and unlock the power of our brands across Europe.

“Matt’s leadership and in-depth knowledge of the market will help our teams navigate the ever-changing shifts in retail and consumer behavior across the region.”

Austin joins Hasbro from confectionery giant Lindt & Sprungli, where he was the CEO for the UK and Ireland. Prior to Lindt, he worked for Mars, Inc. as General Manager for European Confections and General Manager for Mars Food in Germany.

Nickelodeon's Marianne James earlier this month departed and joined Hasbro to head up consumer products in EMEA

Matthew is the second high-profile hire for the toymaker in as many weeks. At the start of October, Marianne James announced her departure from Nickelodeon to join Hasbro as Vice President, EMEA Consumer Products.

Casey Collins, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Global Consumer Products at Hasbro, said Marianne’s “leadership capabilities, depth of market knowledge, and strategic vision will help drive further growth in our EMEA Consumer Products business.”
