Cloudco Entertainment and Sixteen South have secured a raft of high-profile sales for pre-school animation Claude.
The series will make its free-to-air debut in the UK on littelBe, the new pre-school block on ITVBe, in Q3 2019. The network was drawn to the “unique look and feel” says Darren Nartey, Programme Acquisition Executive and ITV.
“The cheeky humour sits well on the channel and will appeal to children as well as parents, making it a great for for littleBe,” he adds.
Claude is based on a hit series of books by Alex T.Smith, following the eponymous beret-clad dog on his adventures in the seaside resort of Pawhaven.
The show has also found home in the Nordics with Finland’s YLE and has been picked up across Asia, with YoYo in Taiwan, CJ E&M Media Corporation for GEM in South Korea, TVB in Hong Kong, Cineplex Company for True Visions in Thailand, and has been licensed to UYoung to distribute the series in China.
Karen Vermeulen, Head of Global Distribution and Co-Productions, Cloudco Entertainment, says: “We are thrilled to see the high number of broadcast sales, and that buyers are embracing the uniqueness of the series' look and soundtrack as well as the wonderful storytelling.”
The new round of sales follow strong ratings for the show on Disney Junior, where it was the number one show in Australia for kids 0 to four and ranked second with kids four to seven in the UK.
