Unbelievably, the first kids to watch Peppa Pig will be applying to university next year as the pre-school property turns 15.
The pre-school favourite has become a global business since the first episode Muddy Puddles debuted in the summer of 2004, and to mark the milestone, Entertainment One is lining up a year-long calendar of celebratory activity in the UK. A nationwide cinema release, live events, retail and product initiatives will be united under the theme of ‘Family Celebrations’, with a host of new partners expanding the UK licensing programme and driving growth.
“It’s an incredible achievement that 15 years on from its initial broadcast, Peppa Pig remains as loved by children now as it has ever been,” says eOne’s Katie Rollings, SVP Licensing - UK, Family & Brands. “The property has continued to welcome new partners and we’re excited about the new lines that Fashion UK and our other licensees will be producing. We look forward to creating more unforgettable memories for her many fans with the exciting events we have planned next year.”
Leading the charge is Fashion UK, which has just been appointed as apparel and plans debut a wide range of kids daywear and swimwear in addition to adult nightwear, daywear and 04. underwear, which launch at retail from spring/summer 2019.

Also joining the programme are Alfred Franks & Barlett for Sunglasses, Dreamtex for wallpaper, Original Candy Co for shaped lollies, Great British Teepee Company, Enesco for gifting and limited-edition anniversary figurines, Evode Group and Pez. Other partners continue to extend and deepen their offering and eOne is strengthening its ties with Yoplait and retailers Marks and Spencer and Next.
Entertainment One is anchoring the anniversary celebrations with a nationwide cinema release, Peppa Pig: Festival of Fun!, which will be released in UK cinemas nationwide from 5 April 2019 and features 10 brand-new episodes. Exclusive brand partnerships are also being lined up for product ranges tied to the year-long theme of Family Celebrations. This will include party themed plush and figures from Character Options, an Ultimate Collection of 50 books from Penguin, magazine anniversary specials from Redan, special edition figurines from Enseco, new partyware from Gemma and Fashion UK party-themed apparel, with more partners soon to be announced.
To support the widespread Peppa Pig activity, eOne has made a longstanding commitment to new content that will air until winter 2020. The new episodes began airing in 2017 and have already resulted in sales uplift across the UK licensing programme, particularly in publishing and toys, where Character Options has seen core toy lines grow seven per cent YoY.
