Butterbean Café, a new pre-school series that has been bubbling away at Nickelodeon, is set to serve up its premier on 12 November.
It’s the latest animation from the brains behind Bubble Guppies, Robert Scull and Jonny Belt, and centres on a fairy named Butterbean and her adventures running the local café and bakery.
The 40-episode series will premiere with The Grand Opening!, which sees Butterbean and her friends work together to make the opening of the café a success, while competing café owner Ms. Marmalady attempts to throw them off track.
To fit with the foodie theme, a fell menu of top celebrity chefs and culinary experts will make guest voice appearances, including the likes of Richard Blais (Top Chef, Guy’s Grocery Games), Padma Lakshmi (Top Chef) and Alton Brown (Good Eats, Iron Chef America).
In the series, Butterbean, sister Cricket and her fairy friends Dazzle, Poppy and Jasper take pride in serving up healthy snacks and sweet treats to the residents in their community of Puddlebrook. Butterbean’s special magic beans, the fairies’ enchanted kitchen tools, and the team’s can-do spirit all combine to make their cafe the most awesome eatery in town.
Following its US launch, Butterbean’s Café will roll out on Nickelodeon’s international channels and branded blocks throughout 2019.
