Season 2 of the hit BBC series takes the International Emmy Kids Award for the second time as product orders soar 400% in a year

Hey Duggee – Season 2 was awarded the Preschool Award at the International Emmy Kids Awards this week, winning in the category for the second time.

Henrietta Hurford-Jones, Executive Producer of Hey Duggee, BBC Studios says: “Hey Duggee has been a huge success around the world and we’re thrilled to see the series receive international recognition from Emmy. Since first winning this award in 2017 Hey Duggee has continued to inspire children everywhere, and it’s a real privilege to be awarded again this year.”

The series is based around The Squirrel Club and run by a loveable, huggable dog called Duggee. Adored by girls, boys and parents too, Hey Duggee inspires children to have a go, work as a team and earn badges along the way.

Sue Goffe, Executive Producer, Studio AKA, said: “How thrilling to have another Emmy win for Hey Duggee - we’re so pleased to see the show recognised in this category again. It’s a reflection of the wonderful work of our team, and the creativity and combined efforts of so many.”

Hey Duggee is a Studio AKA production with BBC Studios and now holds a combined six BAFTA and International Emmy awards. The show has an impressive global footprint in over 150 territories, with over 634 million minutes of YouTube watch time. 

The show’s continued growth has had a huge impact on the brand’s licensing programme, with a 400% increase in orders since March last year, and several product launches hitting the shelves in 2019. Golden Bear’s Hey Duggee Musical Soft Toy will be available later this year, and the brand has grown its retailers to include Sainsbury’s, Character.com, Next, Aldi, Moonpig and Argos.

Since its launch in March, Hey Duggee - Season 3 has been hugely successful, with The Toothbrushing Badge proving the most watched episode across all children’s titles on linear UK channels in 2019.
