The Coronavirus crisis is an unprecedented situation for everyone, but for those who are in hospital fighting this virus – and for their loved ones at home who cannot visit for fear of infection – the situation is even harder to bear.

We want to help patients and their families connect in these difficult times and we need your help! So many of us have tablets that we no longer use or that we do not use enough.

That can make a huge difference to people right now. It is easy to do your bit and help these people stay connected and, in some cases, say farewell to their loved ones.

David Ross, UK-Based content creator and publisher, decided to motivate the country to donate a device through his #NHSTabletTeam initative, a simple way to play your role in supporting the wellbeing of those affected by the outbreak.

Since starting it just days ago the reaction has already been fantastic, as David explains: “I was thinking about what I could do over the weekend to help out the NHS and the country with the Coronavirus pandemic.

“We've got loads of old tablets and laptops at the office that we don't need any more and I realised that it would probably really help patients and their families if I donated some of them.

“They will help them keep entertained whilst they're on the wards and enable them to contact loved ones, who may not be able to see them due to the infection rate of Coronavirus. For some it will be a final goodbye – heartbreakingly, and if we can make sure they are not alone in that moment, then we are all doing our bit.

“The reaction from Barnet Hospital when I talked to them was unbelievable and I've just dropped off a bunch of tablet there. They were thrilled.

“I want to encourage everyone to do the same - most people have a some old devices lying around in their houses and now is the perfect time to get rid of them and do something useful.”
