Chummi, a newly launched line of smartcard holders, has secured a licensing deal with Transport for London.
Designed to keep Oyster cards, contactless bank cards and other tap-and-go cards safe and simple to use, Chummi currently comes in six designs, including tigers and ice creams.
Chummi will develop a line of new looks in partnership with TfL, delving into its archive to draw on stylish graphics stretching back more than 100 years, including some of the world's best-known design icons.
Developed, designed and trademarked by the team Ideas at Work, Henry Becket, who led the project, says: “With card-clash becoming such an issue and so many hundreds of thousands of lost Oyster cards every year, Chummi is the perfect fit with TfL, providing a real benefit to their millions of travellers.
"With Chummi attached to bag, belt or rucksack, you'll never lose your card again!"
Chummi works with all contactless and smartcards, but was originally devised for use on London’s Tube and bus network, to avoid fumbling at the barriers.
The range is already selling well online on www.chummi.co.uk and Amazon, with retail opportunities currently being explored, as well as overseas opportunities for touchcard usage.
