Forbidden Planet is teaming up with Microsoft and game developer 343 Industries to carry a huge variety of Halo products and a licensed direct-to-retail range that’s exclusive to the pop-culture specialist retailer.

Forbidden Planet is already one of the leading retailers of Halo merchandise in the UK, selling books, toys, clothing and other items, and this partnership brokered by global licensing agency Beanstalk will develop the brand further. The new range will include everything from novels, comics, action figures and high-end replicas to giftware, homeware, clothing and apparel. The licensed direct-to-retail range will feature exclusive product only available in Forbidden Planet stores and www.forbiddenplanet.com.

Omar Khan, Forbidden Planet’s Licensing and Special Projects Manager, said: "I'm incredibly excited to bring Halo to Forbidden Planet. We've loved fighting for the UNSC since 2001 – and it's extra special to see a line of exclusive clothing, homeware and giftware in-store and online. We're looking forward to a close licensing and retailer partnership with Microsoft and 343 Industries, commencing with the launch of products tied to the much-awaited Halo Wars 2!"

John Friend, head of consumer products at 343 Industries, said: “Forbidden Planet stores are the best place to find great sci-fi and pop culture collectibles, clothes and books in the UK. We’re big fans and thrilled that the UNSC and Banished will be building bases there for the launch of Halo Wars 2, and beyond!"

The Forbidden Planet London Megastore will host a launch day for the first wave of DTR ranges, coinciding with the release of the forthcoming Halo Wars 2.
