Oprah Winfrey is cooking up something special with Kraft Heinz, launching O, That’s Good! Frozen Skillet meals such as Chicken Alfredo and Three Cheese Tortellini.
The range is the fourth release from Mealtime Stories, LLC, the joint venture between Kraft Heinz and Oprah Winfrey, which has already resulted in a range of refrigerated soups, sides and frozen pizza.
There are six O, That’s Good! meals for consumers to choose from: Chicken Alfredo, Chicken Margherita, Southwest Style Chicken and Penne, Italian Sausage and Rigatoni, Garlic Chicken and Potatoes and vegetarian-friendly Three Cheese Tortellini.
Oprah’s comfort food favourites have each been given a healthy twist for range, swapping out fatty ingredients for healthier alternatives in some cases, such as using pureed cauliflower to bulk out the cream sauce in the Chicken Alfredo meal, or adding in extra vegetables to boost the nutritional value of others.
“Comfort food gets a bad rap, but not anymore,” Oprah says. “With my skillets, there’s a twist of veggies in the sauce, but they taste so good you’d never know the difference. These are inspired by my dinnertime favourites and you’re going to love how easy they are to make.”
“We are welcoming our consumers back to the comfort food they love with a unique twist of veggies and high-quality ingredients,” adds Christopher Urban, head of Mealtime Stories at Kraft Heinz. “We’re excited to enter the skillet category with O, That’s Good! and make dinner delicious and easy.”
As well as feeding hungry shoppers, Mealtime Stories will be doing its bit in the fight against hunger by donating 10 per cent of the profits to two charities, Rise Against Hunger and Feeding America. The Kraft Heinz Company Foundation intends to make annual donations on behalf of Mealtime Stories to these charities until the joint venture becomes profitable.
