Café Rouge has invited The Snowman in from the cold this Christmas with the launch of limited edition The Snowman Afternoon Tea.

In partnership with Penguin Ventures, The Afternoon Tea is inspired by Raymond Briggs' iconic creation which is intrinsically linked to the magic of Christmas and family tradition.

The Snowman Afternoon Tea at Café Rouge features three tiers of delicious treats inspired by the classic story. The treats include a festive take on Café Rouge’s signature Croque, served with pigs in blankets, alongside snowy scones dusted with icing sugar and served with white chocolate buttons, strawberry jam and clotted cream.

Those with a sweet-tooth can indulge in moreish S’mores, a Christmassy carrot cake, or white chocolate mousse topped with a white chocolate snowball.

“The Snowman Afternoon Tea at Café Rouge perfectly captures the festive spirit of the classic story and it tastes absolutely delicious too,” says Izzy Richardson, Head of Brand Management at Penguin Ventures.

“Guests are in for a wonderful treat and we hope that many magical memories are made in this special celebratory year for Café Rouge!”

Jaci Fletcher, Head of Marketing at Café Rouge, adds: “When I think of Christmas, I think of The Snowman and I’m sure I’m not the only one!

"A firm Christmas favourite for young and old, Penguin Ventures celebrated 40 years of The Snowman last year, and with Rouge celebrating their 30th this year too, it was the perfect time to partner to do something for the festive season.

“By teaming up with Penguin Ventures, we’ve managed to capture precious Christmas memories and give them back to guests in the form of something edible!”

The Snowman Afternoon Tea is available now until 5 January 2020.
