Mr. Men Little Miss and Haliborange partnered to serve up a healthy does of fun and education on nutrition through the Mr. Chef campaign.
A series of events took place last month at Under 1 Roof childrens’ play centre in Woolich, London, organised in response to research showing more than half of UK parents struggle to engage their little ones in the importance of eating healthily.
Through fun, free cookery classes, the Mr. Chef events aimed to change that, teaching families for all backgrounds essential kitchen skills while creating a healthy dish from scratch to take home and enjoy.
“We partnered with Haliborange and created the Mr. Chef campaign to tackle some of the shocking statistics revealed in the research commissioned into healthy eating,” says Hannah Rowlands, Marketing & Digital Manager, Mr. Men Little Miss.
“It was important to us that we educated children from varied backgrounds about nutrition in an engaging way through fun cookery classes and educational activities led by our characters. For those who couldn’t make it down to the events we created a series of interactive cooking videos led by Mr. Strong that can be followed along at home as well as a series of downloadable recipe content.”
The events were also jam packed with games and activities focusing on food and nutrition, with star appearances from Mr. Strong. Children were given recipes to try at home and parents were able to take part in a Q&A with a nutritionist where they could ask questions about their children’s nutrition. A select number of cookery classes were dedicated exclusively for nurseries and community groups in the local area.
