Charlotte Reed, creator of the uplifting May The Thoughts Be With You brand, is to become a regular fixture at The Samaritans events, where she will share her experience with mental health struggles and promoted the charity across her own platforms.
The charity, which receives more than 5 million calls annually from individuals considering suicide, is a natural partner for Charlotte who suffered from severe depression and achieved her own path to happy through her brand which now has a wide range of gifting lines, calendars and cards on sale throughout the UK, as well as ongoing movie discussions.
The partnership will see Charlotte address audiences at a number of Samaritans events, talking about her own experiences and how she worked to overcome them, seeking solace in drawing and creating the short meaningful statements for which she has now become a household name.
Charlotte’s first speaking event for the charity took place last month, when she addressed its leading supporters and the unveiling of its new Webchat service which launches next spring. There are also plans to highlight relevant Samaritans events such as Brew Monday through Charlotte's Monday Motivation column in the Evening Standad, a popular weekly illustration with an uplifting caption.
Clare Piggott, Director at Larkshead Media, who brokered the partnership, says: "Charlotte understands first-hand the trauma brought on by depression and, having called the Samaritans several times for help, is keen to support the work of this essential charity. We are immensely proud of this partnership and hope her personal story resonates with those whom The Samaritans support day in, day out."
Charlotte was the winner of BLE 2017's License This! competition and has published two successful books under her brand My The Thoughts Be With You, hosted a Meet The Author talk at last week’s Brand Licensing Europe 2019, and is planning a range of bespoke gifts for 2020.
