The Point.1888 has welcomed former Saatchi & Saatchi executive Martin McLaughlin as its new Commercial Manager.
His appointment is the fifth round of expansion at the Point.1888 since December 2018, a seven month period during which the agency’s team has more than doubled from eight to 21.
Martin’s hire will add further expertise in brand partnerships with some of the world biggest brands, having delivered communications and advertising for T-Mobiel, Amazon, Ford and Warner Music, among other. Martin will focus on growing the Point.1888’s FMCG and publishing clients.
“With every new recruit that joins our business we see immediate change and growth across everything we do,” says Will Stewart, Point.1888’s Managing Director. “With Martin, we’re gaining some highly valuable new skills and experience that will enable us to further develop our existing clients and categories, as well as welcome new brands on board.”
With a background in advertising and brand partnership, Martin will also work alongside The Point.1888’s Head of Marketing Sarah Crimes, bringing expertise to developing the agency’s recently launched client marketing and creative division.
Martin says: “The Point.1888 is truly setting itself apart from the rest of the licensing industry and I’ve found their honesty, passion, bravery and trust evident in everything they do. The result of this refreshing approach can clearly be seen through the exciting companies they work with, and the trusting relationships they have with them all. I’m incredibly excited to join their team and for the opportunities that lie ahead for the business.”
McLaughlin began his career in advertising at the globally famous Saatchi & Saatchi, working on many of the UK’s biggest consumer brands. He also launched Love Da Pop in 2010, a popcorn market which secured investment from Dragon’s Den’s Peter Jones and listings in Eaitrose, Easyjet and Superdrug.
