ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) will present the popular Canadian sitcom Schitt’s Creek together with its portfolio at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas this June.
The sitcom will debut in licensing in response to huge market demand from the continuously building audience around the world. The series has had an overwhelming interest from international licensees and new licensed products will come to the US market from summer 2019.
Created and produced by Daniel Levy and his father Eugene Levy, the series follows a wealthy family who lose their fortune and are forced to relocate to a rundown motel in the small town of Schitt’s Creek.
The first merchandise and licensed products launching are Rizzoli, with calendars for 2020, Hi-Line with the live tour merchandise, and a direct-to-consumer strand to the programme, with UGC fan art available through Redbubble and other online retailers.
Additional categories are currently under discussion, including Softlines, Gifting, Home & Bath, and Collectibles, with designs reflecting the show’s signature humour and drawing on the smart and witty writing by using lines from key characters.
Schitt’s Creek, now in its fifth season, airs on CBC in Canada and Pop in the US as well as being a popular hit on Netflix in the US, UK, Eire, Australia, New Zealand, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Japan.
