Viacom and CBS have named the senior leadership team that will lead the combined company after the two US media giants merge later this year.
ViacomCBS will reconcile two major units of the Redstone family’s National Amusements under the stewardship of Bob Bakish, the current president and Chief Executive Officer of Viacom.
Leading ViacomCBS’ licensing business will be Pam Kaufman, currently president of Viacom/ Nickelodeon Global Consumer Products.
Pam will serve as president of Global Consumer Products at ViacomCBS, overseeing the company’s licensing and consumer product business, including merchandising, retail sales, consumers insights and marketing.
Other executives lined up for the top roles are Ray Hopkins, president of Television Networks Distribution at CBS, who will serve as President of U.S. Network Distribution at ViacomCBS.
Armando Nuñez, CBS’s current Global Distribution Group President and Chief Content Licensing Officer, will oversee the same office at ViacomCBS. Dan Cohen, current president of Worldwide Home Entertainment and Television Distribution at Viacom-owned Paramount, will report into Armando as President of Global Content Licensing.
“These appointments mark an important step in the integration of CBS and Viacom,” says Bob Bakish. “The seasoned executives we announced today will capitalise on ViacomCBS’ must-watch programming, iconic library and franchises, as well as its global production capacity to drive important new distribution, content licensing and advertising opportunities all over the world.”
The merger remains subject to customary closing conditions but is expected to close in around a month’s time.
