Jonathan Abraham is upped to VP Sales, shifting focus from pure content sales to licensing and consumer products

Guru Studio emphasizes licensing with team expansion thumbnail

Jonathan Abraham's promotion to VP Sales and Business Development at Guru Studio takes him beyond content sales to tackle licensing and consumer products for the first time.

He is charged with meeting the growing demand for the studio’s original IP by identifying and securing new business opportunities through consumer products and other licensing avenues.

To support Jonathan, Corey Caplan joins the company as Director of International Sales. Reporting to Jonathan, Corey will be responsible for taking over the company’s international content sales, including those for a slate of new properties to be unveiled later this year. The appointment frees Jonathan to focus on licensing and new business. Corey brings a decade of experience in TV distribution to the team, at what he describes as “an incredible time” to join Guru.

Jonathan says: “I’m thrilled to be leading Guru’s expanding sales team into new areas of growth for the company. Corey is the perfect addition to our team and together I look forward to bringing our growing roster of exciting kids and family brands to a global audience.”

Developments within the senior team follows Guru’s promotion of Rachel Marcus to VP Creative Development earlier this year, as the company prepares to deliver a line up of new originals to the market later this year and into 2020.
