Gene Simmons, the serpentine-tongued co-founder of the rock band KISS and one of music’s most colourful personalities, has named IMG his first exclusive global licensing representative.
IMG will work with Simmons to build a broad licensing programme that covers apparel, homeware, automotive, travel accessories, gaming and electronics, with products launching in early 2020. Beyond product, IMG’s representation of Simmons will include promotions, commercial tie-ins and brand endorsements.
“IMG is the world’s leading licensing agency and our aim is to create a whole new range of products and to expand into areas of merchandising that are innovative and exciting to me and my fans,” says Simmons.
“They have years of experience and expertise in this field and I’m looking forward to building a strong and lasting relationship with them.”
Gary Krakower, Vice President of Licensing, IMG, adds: “Gene Simmons is a branding and merchandising maven and we are so excited to be working with him. Together, we will use our extensive skills base, relationships and experience to showcase Gene’s iconic style and personality.”
Simmons co-founded KISS, one of America’s most successful bands of all time with worldwide sales of more than 100 million albums. Outside of music, Simmons has starred in multiple TV series, is a restauranteur, public speaker and is currently deep into writing his seventh book, On Power.
