The first series of Wetmore Forest books based on Funko’s own designs and characters have hit shelves in Barnes and Noble stores.
Wetmore Pop! figures and plush merchandise are on sale alongside the books in the kids’ book section of Barnes & Noble and the bookseller’s website, BN.com.
The titles now available include, Tumblebee Goes for a Walk, Pickelz Gets lunch, Butterhorn Makes Some Friends and A Tale of Two Tribes. Following in autumn are Snuggletooth and the Big Game, Chester and the Big Race, and Bugsy Saves the Day.
“We’re thrilled to introduce young readers to the Wetmore Forest family with our first wave of stories,” says Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Johanna Gepford. “Children will be delighted to follow the literary adventures of Tumbleebee, Pickelz and Butterhorn while simultaneously hugging their favorite Wetmore Pop! or plush character.”
To celebrate the launch, A Tale of Two Tribes will be the featured book at the Barnes & Noble Storytime event for August, introducing newcomers to the fictional worlds and characters of Wetmore Forest. The event will take place in all Barnes & Noble stores on Saturday, 31 August at 11am local time.
Though better known for its licensed collectables, Funko created Wetmore Forest as an original IP to depict an enchanting forest and encourage exploration and discovery among Funko fans. Loveable and lighthearted Pop! Monsters in the fiction include Pickelz, Bugsy, Tumblebee, Butterhorn, Snuggletooth, Chester and many more.
