The Asmodee Group is opening up its trove of board game IP to video game developers, inviting companies to license and adapt a catalogue of more than 250 titles.
Previous digital success with the likes of Ticket to Ride, a best-seller in the app stores, has prompted a wider initiative to give developers greater access to Asmodee’s portfolio, promoting games such as Dobble, KeyForge and Braintopia.
Developers looking for a deeper publishing partnership, including development and marketing support, can also lean on Asmodee Digital, the world’s largest platform for board game conversions.
"Asmodee has established a world-leading platform for developing and publishing authentic and compelling digital versions of the best board and card games,” says Nicolas Godement, Asmodee Digital’s COO.
“Now, while we can’t wait to disclose some of the exciting titles we have been working on, and to sign new ones, we also look forward to working with the experienced licensing team at Asmodee Entertainment to further expand the range of interactive games based on our sterling array of Asmodee properties."
The company will be open to meetings at GDC this year, though the games industry event looks likely to be cancelled due to concerns over the coronavirus.
Andy Jones, Head of Asmodee Entertainment, adds: “This is a fantastic opportunity for developers, publishers and of course, Asmodee Entertainment to enter into many new licensing partnerships and further explore the wealth of Asmodee titles through interactive games across all platforms and genres.”
