Sonar Entertainment has appointed Jazwares global master toy partner for its new animated series Go Away Unicorn!

The toymaker has secured exclusive global toy rights and will develop a full range of products covering peel-away blind figures, a variety of figure packs and plush.

CentaIP is the worldwide licensing agent for the series.

“We believe Jazwares is a perfect partner for this fast-growing brand,” says Andrea Gorfolova, President, Sonar Kids, Family and Factual. “Jazwares instinctively gets what makes Alice, Unicorn and their relationship beautiful, unique and important to kids today. All the fun, humour, and spirit of the series will be reflected in the toys Jazwares is bringing to the market.”

Go Away Unicorn debuted in Canada on Corus Entertainment’s YTV this autumn and is already pulling in strong ratings as a top three show on the channel. It will premier in the US on Disney Channel in March 2019, with a preview going live on the DisneyNOW app this December. The first products are scheduled to roll out at retail late next summer to capitalise on back-to-school season.

Laura Zebersky, Chief Commercial Officer at Jazwares, says: “We’re excited to introduce the Go Away Unicorn! toy line to the pre-cool retail space. Go Away Unicorn is a perfect fit—the content lends itself to a synergistic line of toys that embody the importance of friendship and acceptance, while being funny for the whole family.”

The new 52 x 11-minute series, which also integrates 10 x 1-minute shorts, is based on the popular children’s written and illustrated by Emily Mullock. The animated series follows the adventures of Alice and her companion, a real-life Unicorn wo shows up at her birthday party and declares himself her new best friend. Alice is a modern, curious and independent young girl who loves sports and books to rainbow and glitter and enjoys nothing so much as being ultra organised.
