Metro Goldwyn Mayer has appointed Robert Marick as the new Executive Vice President, Global Consumer Products and Experiences.
He will be putting his more than 25 years’ experience to work on expanding the movie studios merchandise and consumer products business, as well as spearheading a overarching strategy to better deliver on licensed product, digital gaming, events and direct-to-consumer launches.
Robert says his appointment comes at a time of “renewed focus on consumer products as a means to create more holistic experiences” around MGM’s properties. These include more traditional entertainment classics like James Bond and Pink Panther, alongside recent prestige TV brands such as the award-winning, heavy-hitting drama Handmaid’s Tale, and Vikings.
“I look forward to working alongside the existing teams to expand MGM’s international and interactive game presence and identify new opportunities in location-based entertainment and direct-to-consumer,” Robert adds.
Robert previously served at Disney, Mattel, Discovery, Twentieth Century Fox and WarnerMedia.
“His extensive knowledge of the industry and global marketing expertise will enable him to provide a unique perspective as we look to enhance MGM’s position as a global leader in consumer products and experiences,” says Christopher Brearton, MGM’s Chief Operating Officer, who Robert will report to.
