Oxford University Press to publish two new Pippi Longstocking books in 2019 ahead of the brand’s 75th anniversary

The adventures of Pippi Longstocking are set to continue under a new deal between The Astrid Lindgren Company and Oxford University Press.

The imprint will publish a pair of new illustrated, two-colour Pippi Longstocking fiction titles, Do You Know Pippi Longstocking? and Pippi Longstocking’s After-Christmas Party, in September 2019.

Featuring the original text by Astrid Lindgren and original Swedish artwork by Ingrid Vang Nyman, both will be published as a worldwide exclusive in an early reader fiction paperback format for ages five-plus, having previously only existed as picture books.

We are re-introducing Ingrid Vang Nyman's original illustrations globally ahead of Pippi’s 75th birthday, and we're thrilled to see Oxford University Press's stunning 2-colour take on the artwork in these two titles.”

These two new titles will be published in collaboration with The Astrid Lindgren Company ahead of Pippi Longstocking’s 75th anniversary in 2020.
