Licensed gift company Half Moon Bay has appointed Iain Wakefield as its new Head of Licensing and Business Development.

Iain has more than 25 years’ experience in publishing and branding, holding positions at HarperCollins, Universal Studios and, most recently, Haynes Publishing where he headed up licensing and worked with Half Moon as licensor for a range of giftware and Haynes Explains gift books.

“I have been fortunate enough to work with Half Moon Bay for many years and long admired the company,” says Iain. “I’m looking forwards to joining the team at such an exciting time and helping to further grow the business.'

In his new role, Iain will oversee Half Moon Bay’s growing portfolio of licenses, which has rapidly expanded in to add close to 20 new brands across its three divisions already in 2019.

Peter Thompson, MD at Half moon Bay, adds: “I’ve known Iain for over 10 years and am delighted he’s joining the team here. Iain’s international licensing knowledge and his publishing experience will really help Half Moon Bay as we continue to grow both our gift presence and our Ice House Books publishing imprint.”
