Betty meets Betsey in heart health campaign thumbnail

Betty Boop and fashion designer Betsey Johnson have teamed up to debut limited-edition t-shirts promoting women’s heart health.

The exclusive designs feature hand-drawn illustrations of beloved Betty in Betsey’s signature style that encourage fans to be mindful of their heart wellness.

The collaboration is part of the cartoon character’s 90th anniversary celebrations in 2020. The tee also commemorates the 17th annual Red Dress Awards, an American event that recognizes advocates and organisations who help women take charge of their heart health.

Betty Boop and Betsey Johnson will walk the red carpet together at the event, at Lincoln Center in New York on February 4. Betsey Johnson will also make a special on-stage appearance to speak about her own experience with heart health.

“Betty Boop has been the biggest inspiration to me forever,” says designer Betsey Johnson. “Comical, cute, happy, sweet…and sexy! I love her, and I’ll do anything to support taking care of your heart. 

"I recently had open heart surgery at Cedars-Sinai, and I feel like a million bucks! Now I have a double whammy of support for breast cancer and heart health. I’m honoured to be part of this event and to create a tee that helps support women’s health.”

Fans interested in helping spread the word about the importance of women’s heart health can nab the adorable t-shirt online until the end of March 2020.
